Material Preparation

After figuring out the exact dimension of the track car and the needed electronic components, we proceeded to purchase our materials from Art friend and Sim Lim tower.

Shopping List:

Artfriend :

  1. Cardboard

  2. Hot glue gun and glue stick

  3. Utility Knife

  4. Magnet

Cardboard

Cardboard is relatively cheaper in terms of price and can be easily cut into shapes according to our needs.

Magnets

Magnets are widely available in most hardware stores and are ideal for our prototype.

Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks

Hot glue gun and glue stick are perfect tools for rapid prototyping because the strength of glue is strong and dry fast.

Utility Knife

The utility knife is used to cut the cardboard into shapes to make the structure of the prototype.

Sim Lim tower:

  1. Hight torque motor

  2. Micro switch

  3. Toggle switch

  4. 7 segments

  5. Motor driver

  6. LED strip

  7. Buzzer

  8. Arduino board

High Torque Motor

This can be used to drive the platform such that it appears to be the magnet above it is moving.

Toggle Switch

This is used to control 'on' and 'off' of the prototype for energy saving purpose.

Motor Driver

Motor driver is used so that the direction of the motor can be changed accordingly and sufficient power is supplied to the motor.

Buzzer

Buzzer is used as the 'speaker' of the prototype to play songs while the user is enjoying the game.

Microswitch

This is used as the 'sensor' that detects the insertion of coin by the user.

7 Segment

It is used as an indicator so that user knows which level of the game he/she is currently playing at.

LED Strip (RGB)

LED strip is used to decorate and enhance the aesthetic appearance of the prototype.
